At Northern Gundogs Braque Francais, we are passionate about breeding and raising the best French Pointing Dogs. Our dogs are not only great hunters, but also make great companions. We strive to provide healthy, happy, and socialized puppies to loving homes. Our breeding program is dedicated to preserving the breed and producing dogs with excellent temperament and hunting abilities. We take pride in our dogs and the care we provide them. Why we chose a Braque Francais
Our family is a hunting family. My wife and I both grew up hunting and fully immersed in the culture that surrounds living off the land. We are also dog people to our core, so it only makes sense that we eventually found ourselves hunting over our late beagle for the better part of 12 years. After moving to Alberta and having an assortment of upland birds to chase we wanted to foray into the pointing dog world. We researched the various pointing breeds and a versatile dog that would do birds and rabbits made perfect sense. Flipping through the pages of the internet there are plenty of breeds that would do what we wanted but were just too big, or too energetic for a small house and small kids. When we came across the Braque Francais Pyrenees it was as though the description leapt off the screen. It sounded like the perfect dog for us. Shortly after we were lucky enough to find one in Canada and our girl Zoe set us on this amazing adventure. She has been everything people had described of the breed. We knew we had something and after a few seasons of chasing birds we decided we had an opportunity to help provide these amazing dogs to others.
